Evros Awarded Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) Advanced Specialization

By March 16, 2021Tech News

evros awarded Microsoft WVD advanced specialization2021 has been a tremendous year for Evros so far, and as it continues, March is no different.

To add to our most recent accolades – namely the Azure Expert MSP program as well as the Windows Server and SQL Server Migration to Microsoft Azure Advanced Specialization, we are delighted to announce our latest achievement: the Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop Advanced Specialization.

These programmes carry significant barriers to entry. They also require Evros to be independently audited. It is only through the demonstration of our methodology, technical expertise and process management that we can acquire such significant status as a Microsoft Partner. All of which our customers are familiar with on a daily basis.

What is the Windows Virtual Desktop Advanced Specialization?

The Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) Advanced Specialization is one of Microsoft’s newest advanced Specializations. Partners who achieve this status have gone through a rigorous audit to confirm their experience in designing, deploying, optimising, and securing Windows Virtual Desktop – now known as Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) – and its required infrastructure on Azure.

The Windows Virtual Desktop Advanced Specialization is only available to partners who already have, and maintain, an active Gold Cloud Platform competency.

Why is the Windows Virtual Desktop Advanced Specialization award important?

It’s no secret that cloud has been a huge factor in enabling businesses to continue their work on a remote basis. But for some organisations, cloud presents certain challenges with regards to compliance.

Windows Virtual Desktop – now Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) – solves this issue and allows business to continue to evolve their remote work approach without the need for concern.

Moreover, it provides a gateway for new customers who have not yet moved to the cloud, and it also carries with it simplified licencing.

“Windows Virtual Desktop is the backbone of remote working and key to ensuring minimal or no impact to your day-to-day operations, providing seamless access to your desktop environment or applications with security, manageability, scalability built-in, from anywhere at any time, says Bibhas Bhattacharya, Business Group Lead for Azure, Microsoft Ireland.

“With this award, customers have greater access to specialised expertise here in Ireland and can be rest assured that they can bank on the capabilities of Evros to deliver the right solution for the right need for your organisation. Well done Evros!”
