Today (19 September), Evros Technology Group welcomed our very first CIO Forum to the main headquarters in Cherrywood, Dublin.
Hospital CIOs from across the country arrived at Evros for the forum this morning, which was coordinated by the Healthcare Informatics Society of Ireland.
And there was plenty on the medical agenda for the Chief Information Officers. The forum commenced with a key note speech by Dr Kevin O’Carroll from HIQA, who spoke about Interoperability Standards and led a group discussion on the topic.
HSE’s Elaine Naughton followed with the introduction of the updated support model for the HSE’s Service Desk, and opened the floor up to the attendees for wider input.
While Rita Darcy, also from the HSE, outlined the Digital Maturity Assessment programme, modelled of a former NHS campaign. Other significant project updates included HIMSS reaccreditation, Healthmail, and ePrescribing and Documentation.
The CIO Forum was coordinated by Evros Enterprise Account Manager Barry O’Connor, who understood the critical need for facilitating these events from a professional encounter with the HSE.
“Working closely with St. Vincent’s Hospital on a major storage migration project opened me up to just how important these progressions in IT systems are for national healthcare,” says Barry.
“One of the main challenges that CIOs within the health sector encounter is searching for cutting edge technologies to foster efficiencies within the system’s workflows.”
The all-day forum was held at the spacious headquarters at Evros Technology Group, which was followed by an extended tour of the Evros Network Operations Centre.
